Back in the lower 48!

Hey guys. It's 3:28 am and I'm up with the baby for the second time and once already with Fisher. Ouch!  Sorry bout the shortage of contact. We just spent the last 6 days going through Canada and being on a Ferry with very limited and expensive coverage . It feels so good to be back in the US and not to mention the lower 48. I feel a little out of touch and odd though, especially here in Seattle. Loving the food, fresh produce, and  The Ocean. Saw some guy shooting up what I believe was heroin on our way to Pikes Market. He couldn't have cared less that we were walking by.  There is absolutely no shortage of diversity here. Bill had his shoes shined on the street to help some guy out. Fisher is having a ball!  He wants to walk, walk, walk. All of the sudden he no longer wants to hold my hand. :( He's taken to clenching his fists. The space needle has a great view but still doesn't beat the view downtown I mentioned earlier. We are meeting Kristyne tomorrow. She and her family drove up from Oregon to see us. Looks like we'll be taking the kids to the Zoo. I can't wait!

As far as the trailer, that's a big muddy bummer. :(. I was looking forward to having that safe haven at Mums, but we are lucky to have Amber and her cozy home to stay in.

We're getting so excited to see everyone. But I've gotta say, I'm starting to miss Gail more everyday and the closer we get to Utah the more it hurts. It's becoming very clear that I will never see her smiling face again. Sucks.

Well, looks like Smiley Forest is sleeping soundly again with his full belly. Better catch some zzzzzz's. Wow, chase them is more like it.

Love yous.

On the road....

The first day went REALLY well. Blue bird sky with white snow caps and glaciers surrounding us. Alaska is beautiful. My wish is for all of my friends and family to experience it.

Let the adventure begin

Its moving week....Looking forward to being back in the lower 48, but we will miss our beautiful house, the Alaskan summers and our 360 degree view of trees. I will try and blog more frequently to keep everyone up to date even though I think most of you are on facebook and keep up that way.

I'm relieved that we will be in Utah for the celebration of Gail's life. I miss her so much already. The celebration will be held April 24. More info later, just let me know if you want to be updated.

Fisher and Forest

Life with Forest is a little more relaxed lately. I think he is coming into his skin. So sweet! Fisher is so cool and one of the sweetest little people I've ever met. He says please and thank you! I could just eat them up!

old binkie

That was Fishers very first binkie. Had it in the car as an emergancy binkie. He tore it to shreds. I suppose it's time to lost the binkie, but I'm not ready.

First day on my own...

Well Mom is gone. Bill went back to work after getting snipped and I had my first day alone with both kids. Not too bad. No MAJOR meltdowns from them or from me, but the sacrifice is there's food on the floor from Fisher's lunch, the dishes aren't done and the laundry hasn't moved. Priorities change once the second one arrives. My new mantra... this to shall pass...

blast from the past

I was looking at old pics of Fisher and thought I would share a couple. They grow up fast.

It's been even longer....

So caught up in my life. Life is good. Bill is home. No longer in that desert where the world of politics goes down. We are leaving for Hawaii on Monday. One last trip with me, Billiam and Fish before the baby comes. Hope all is well for everyone.

Loves is......

Eating a pomegranate with Fisher for his first time.

It's been awhile....

Wow! Between being a Mom, an incubator and finally going out on my own in Real Estate, I'm one busy, tired girl. Not finding much time to post. Life is good. My Mum is still here. It's been more than wonderful to have her here and I'm sure Fisher would agree. Fisher has had many many firsts and remains a happy boy. Alaskan summer is finally here. Well the snow is melted anyway. Our first camping trip is planned for Denali next week. Missing all of you! Keep in touch!

Mt. Redoubt

I've heard from a few a you wondering about the Volcano. We are about 7 or so hours North of it. The last time it erupted, there was reports of ash reaching us but we haven't seen anything this time so far. An Earthquake woke me up the other night but that's about it. I was a 4.0 on the scale. I've taken it as my wake up call and started revamping my emergency kit today. I think Alaska has more Earthquakes then any where in the world, or maybe it's any where in the lower 48. Anyways, I'm headed to Anchorage April 2 for Fisher's allergy appointment and that's 1 hour North of Mt. Redoubt. There is a good chance our flight will be cancelled.

Mom is here in Alaska. It's been wonderful having her here. We make a great team, especially when it comes to little man. Fisher started walking while Bill was here on R&R. We wondered if Fisher would remember Bill and there was no question about it. It was adorable. He would literally show off for him. Look at me Dad, look at what I can do. After Bill left he was clearly missing him. I feel for him.

It appears the stars where lined up while Bill was here because I'm pregnant again. It's still early, but it's happening so I wanted to share with all of you. So I the baby vessel is here to stay a little longer. At least I got down to my pre-pregers weight before I hit the reset button.

Happy Birthday!

Alright, as you know I do my best to send everyone Birthday cards. Well, I have yet to send a single card out this year. Maybe my priorities are changing. Maybe I'm just lazy or too busy. I still have all of you on my calender and I will be, in the very least, thinking of you on your belly button day. Fisher's 1st Birthday was on Friday. I can't believe it's already been a year. He is growing so fast. He's in a big boy car seat now facing forward. He was so excited. He is starting to stand without holding onto anything, and will be walking anyday. He's a little houdini and faster than you could imagine. Within seconds he's across the room into the very thing you don't want him in. He smiles, laughes and dances from deep in his heart and throws a temper tantrum the same way. Just like his Mom.

Bring on 2009!!!!!!!

Okay, so it's minus 45 right now. Anyone coming up to visit? Ya, probably not. I think we'll stay in today. At that temperture things that to break, and fall off very quickly.

I can't believe 2009 is amoung us and we aren't flying our cars instead of driving. That's what I always pictured when I was young.

Happy Holidays!!!

Hey Everybody, Merry Christmas!!!

Hope you're all happy, full and very MERRY. Christmas was nice. We took a long drive to Nenana to get out of the house. Leaving just in time to make the drive within the three or so hours of day light we had today. Since Winter Solstice, Dec 22 we gain I think.. about 7 mins of light every day. Fisher opened a couple of presents. I've known for months what I was going to buy Fisher for Christmas. I've been so excited because I just knew he would love TICKEL ME ELMO and well... he HATES it. Flinched and screamed at every move and giggle. Oh well. I can always play with it while he sleeps. :)

Thank you to everyone that played with us and contributed to the polls. I'll keep you posted on the to tell or not to tell. I'm leaning more towards keeping the magic alive, but I've got sometime to figure it out, so I'll take advantage.

Anyways, Ya know, I would love to have spoken to all of you on the phone and wish each and everyone of you a personal Merry Christmas, but I hate the phone. So hopefully the Christmas card will suffice. Smile.

Wishing all of you much love, happiness and peace.

Hey, if for some reason you didn't receive a Christmas card, please let me know. Because if you're reading this and you didn't, well you were supposed to.

Loves,

Liz

P.S. Baby vessel removal update: Weighing in at 171lbs. This morning. So far so good.
