On the road again

We are leaving Oklahoma this morning. The joys of knowing you'll be in a car for 10 hours. Are you jealous? Hope everyone has a great day.

The Firefighters Words

Oklahoma City

We went to downtown Oklahoma City. We had dinner in what's called Brick Town. It reminds me of The Gateway, but older and with more culture. Everyone was walking around in Costumes. The city is full of life. On our way home we stopped at The OKC Memorial. The picture of the empty chairs represents each life that was taken that day. The saying was written by a firefighter their for search and rescue.

Dead plants in Oklahoma

The plants didn't survive the trip. I didn't think it would be good to take the plants in and out of the car. I figured a consistent temperature would be better than dramatic changes. Hey, we are in the South, how cold can it get? That theory may of held true but while we were in New Mexico there was an unexpected temperature drop and everything froze. Now the plants have this transparency to them like I stuck each and everyone of them in the freezer. I don't see much sign of recovery. My piece of home is gone. :(

Along the way

We are in Oklahoma now. Staying with Bill's friends Mike, Rachel & their son Jonah. Moab was beautiful. They are experiencing flash floods. Waterfalls spring out of no where, springs & pools of water where it's normally dry. The hike up Negro Bill Canyon was breathtaking. I just really don't know how else to describe it. It was the best hike I've ever been on. I recommend everyone spend sometime in Moab. It's good for the soul!

We are missing all of you, wishing you where along for the ride.

Best Wishes,

Liz

It's Wednesday and I can't believe how time is flying. The movers come tomorrow to size up what we have and how to move it. Does anyone have a suggestions on moving fish across the country? How about plants?

Any ideas will help.

Thanks,

Liz

As we continue to practice our photo class techniques....

Taking photographs with my Mom,I have realized she is very in tune with her surroundings. She spotted this patch of mushrooms while we were out on a walk. Speaking of, if you haven't already been on the river walk along the Weber River in Riverdale, it's a great one. Very marshy, beautiful bridges.

Wow, we can actually see the table!

Ahhh, nice day. Nothing like a warm cup of coffee on a Sunday morning. So glad it's not time to go back to work, although with this being my last week, I am a little sad. I am going to miss it.

The basement is really coming along. It's going to look so great. I tell ya, you really know who your friends are when it's time to finish your basement. ;)

We officially have renters. We won't be leaving behind an empty home. Relief!!

If anyone likes house plants and would like to adopt some of mine, please let me know. It's kind of like giving away part of your family but it's gotta be done.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday, love you!

Did anyone else see the sky last night?

I've been playing with my shutter speeds and ISO with our camera. The attached is a little blurry. I think it's because with the slow shutter speed used, I needed a true tripod(other than the Murano). If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

It's Friday

It's Friday! We were going to head to Moab this weekend. Bill's never seen it. The plan was to camp out along the river. Turns out Moab is experiencing flash flooding. What's funny, I envisioned sleeping in my tent, when in the middle of the night I woke up floating in water. The next day my Mom mentioned we wouldn't be camping in the spot she had picked out due to a flash flood that hit it. Strange..... Hopefully we will get the chance to see it before we leave.

The picture is from our porch. Mom and I are taking a photography class and I need to practice.

The link is an awesome do it yourself forum I found. If you want to find out how to do ANYTHING check here first.

Hope all is well.

Oh talked to Kristyne today. They closed on their home in Oregon and will get their keys today.

Bye

Today is October 5, 2006. We have less than 30 days before the MOVE! I am extremely excited and extremely scared, and extremely, well you get the idea.

I will continue to work on our blog to give you all a view into our move and everything that happens along the way.

Thanks for being patient and don't be afraid to let us know what you think.
